The above rates are calculated monthly on the basis of 22 working days per month and eight (8) working hours per day. Salaries are negotiable.

Hour Rate by May 2012 is $10.25.

Daily Rate – Based on an 8 hours per day multiplied by the Hour Rate Cad$82.00.

Gross Wage – Total amount of money paid to the employee before deductions.

Federal tax/ Provincial tax – Income tax paid to the Canadian Government.

E. I. – Employment Insurance paid to the Canadian Government.

C.P.P. – Canada Pension Plan paid to the Canadian Government.

Room & Board charge cannot exceed Cad$ 325.00 per month as per Employment Standard Branch Regulation.

Net Wage- Total amount of money paid to the employee after deduction.

Canada Pension Plan (C.P.P.) / Quebec Pension Plan (Q.P.P.).

The employer’s contribution is an amount equal to the total’s contribution.

As an employer your contribution is 1.4 times the amount of the employee’s premium for the pay period, unless a reduced rate applies.

As an employer you have responsibilities to your nanny as well as the nanny to the employer.

You are responsible to:

Give a fair market wage. She is entitled to have own key to the house. You should be aware of their rights as well. They are entitled for the general (Statutory) holidays with pay.
